Why is HBC changing the program?
We received feedback from our customers and we listened;
- the existing program point system was too confusing
- points were too cumbersome to redeem points
- really no strong incentive to try and accumulate points since it took forever to earn them
The new program will allow customers to;
- collect points easily, with or without a Hudson’s Bay Mastercard or Hudson’s Bay Credit Card
- redeem points at the point of sale for a Hudson’s Bay Gift Card
- reward our most loyal customers, faster.

2013 will be 2,000 points and that’s worth a $10 Hudson’s Bay Gift Card.

By introducing tiers to the program, we are now able to reward our most loyal shoppers with more points. The more you spend, the more points you will earn.
|
| 7. |
Do I need to have my Hudson’s Bay Rewards card with me every time I shop to earn points?

| 8. |
How do I move up from one tier to the other?
Promotion within tiers is all dependant on spend & purchase visits at Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com or Home Outfitters per calendar year (January 1st to December 31st).
Spend under $400 per year, before taxes, you will earn at the Base Rewards Rate of 1 point per dollar.
Spend between $400 and $1,199.99 per year, you will earn at the Rewards Plus Rate of 1.5 points per dollar.
Spend over $1,200 per year, you will earn at the Rewards VIP rate of 2 points per dollar.
|
| 9. |
What happens if I return an item?
Returns will affect your tier status as they are deducted from the customers total annual spend.
For example:
On a customer’s second visit, they buy a pair of boots for $300, which brings their total spend to $400. They now qualify for “Rewards PLUS”.
On their third visit, they buy for $50 and earn points at the Rewards PLUS Tier level for this purchase. This brings their total spend to $450.
However, on their 4th visit, they return the boots. The $300 is deducted from the total spend of $450 and brings it down to $150.
The next purchases will earn points at the HBC Rewards level, until the total spend is back up to more than $400. Points are taken back at the rate they were earned.
