2007 Overview

At Hbc, our goal is to foster and enhance sustainable business practices throughout our organization, particularly in the areas of the environment, human resources, community investment and ethical sourcing. To achieve this goal and to facilitate continuous improvement, we have established core principles and metrics in each of these areas. Each year, we report our results in this CSR document, which is widely distributed and proudly shared with our associates, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Hbc is Canada’s largest diversified general merchandise retailer, operating in these formats: department store (the Bay), mass merchandise (Zellers), specialty (Home Outfitters) and discount (Fields). With more than 600 stores and nearly 70,000 associates located in every province of Canada, Hbc provides Canadians with stylish, quality merchandise at great value, through retail banners focused on exceptional customer service.
