Toronto, ON: November 6th, 2008; The Bay Queen Street is the place to start your holiday season with an array of holiday events and sights. Beginning with the unveiling of the Bay’s favorite holiday windows on November 6th, followed by a special guest appearance and topped off with magical décor, the Bay will get even the most stubborn Scrooge in the Christmas spirit.
Dating from the 1930’s, the Bay has been enchanting shoppers with magical Holiday windows. This year, under our “Enchanted Christmas” theme, passersby will be mesmerized by our new “Enchanted Forest” fairytale windows along with a our Toyland window with working train that is sure to entertain, and last buy not least, back for an encore presentation our “Santa” Animated windows.
Luring images of fairies are carried through the Bay Queen Street with 200 floating fairies suspended from the ceiling in the cosmetics atrium.

Romance, who resides in Niagara-on-the-lake, is known globally for her creativeness and her signature medium, water colour.Come experience winter through the eyes of Trisha as she visits the Bay’s Christmas St located on the 5th floor of the Queen St store.Christmas St is a 9,000 sq foot Holiday Experience, once you entered, you are instantly surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Holiday season and emerged in the many available options presented to you on how to decorate you home this season.
- The man of the hour himself, Mr. Santa Clause, will be in the vicinity on Sunday, November 16th spreading holiday cheer during the Santa Clause Parade.
- On November 15 and 16th and December 6th and 7th the Bay presents the Christmas in the City events- appealing to the senses as the Bay brings the season’s wonderment together.
- The magic, the spirit, the excitement and the anticipation of the season shine through during the Cavalcade of Lights Christmas tree designed by Brian Gluckstein for Gluckstein Home on Saturday, November 29th.With over 300,000 LED lights illuminating Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto’s Christmas tree will be the talk of the town and you don’t want to miss it.
